The TV pilot of Eddie Murphy's updated Beverly Hills Cop has been passed on by US network CBS, it is reported.
Deadline claims that the pilot, which features Murphy in a supporting role as Axel Foley, will now be shopped around other networks.
The show had been tipped as a strong contender to get picked up, so the news has suprised many in the industry.
The comedy-drama update was conceived by The Shield creator Shawn Ryan and features Brandon T Jackson as the central character - Murphy's on-screen son.
Directoed by Men In Black's Barry Sonnenfeld, the pilot also starred Judge Reinhold and Kevin Pollak.
