Eddie Redmayne Talks EL James Rejection
Star's feelings were hurt when she said no to Fifty Shades role...
You might think Eddie Redmayne would be quite happy with his career following big roles in Les Miserables and the forthcoming sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending.
But the British hunk has revealed that he's still smarting from being publicly rejected by author EL James for a role in the movie version of Fifty Shades Of Grey.
Speaking to Variety, the 32-year-old explained that he had initially expressed an interest in the role of Christian Grey when asked about it in interview.
But he was publicly shot down by the author herself on social media.
"She took to her Twitter feed to go, 'Under no circumstances!'," he said.
"It was like, all right, all right! Am I that bad? I can put a whip in my hand. I can get all kinky, can't I? Apparently not."
The role eventually went to Jamie Dornan - who happens to be an old mate of Eddie's.
He explained that he used to hang out with Dornan and Andrew Garfield when they were all aspiring actors in LA.

"We used to go to the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood, and split a sandwich between us because that meant we could get cheaper parking," he said.
"We'd swim and play table tennis for hours."
