Ella Eyre Just Supported Pride In This Amazing Way
Here's how you can support the cause too.
As Pride celebrations have been kicking off around the world, loads of celebs have been joining the parades and speaking up in solidarity about LGBTQ+ rights. Troye Sivan, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift are among the many A-listers who’ve been loud and proud about waving their rainbow flags.
This is what Xtube stars have to say about the place of porn at NY Pride...
Today, Ella Eyre joined them. Kiehl’s stores across the UK and Ireland have launched a new limited edition MTV Staying Alive Ultra Facial Cream designed by Ella and it's rainbow coloured, inspired by her love of Pride.
“For me Pride is about equality and embracing all people regardless of preferences," Ella commented. "In 2018, I can’t believe we still struggle with such inequalities and prejudices in society. It’s so important to recognise the progress we have made but also keep fighting. I also just love to see so many people coming together to celebrate each other, it is a lot of fun."
But Ella's not just supporting Pride through rainbow packaging... there’s a whole other level to her Pride-themed facial cream.
This year Ella is the ambassador of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, a charity that funds and trains young people around the world running their own HIV-prevention initiatives, spreading super important safe sex information around their communities. The issues they tackle affect the LGBTQ+ community - young men who have sex with men in areas where MTV Staying Alive supports projects (in countries like Kenya, India and Russia) are less likely to have access to safe and effective sexual health services than the general population. MTV Staying Alive’s grantees work to give local LGBTQ+ communities the knowledge and confidence they need to make healthy sex choices.
That's why MTV Staying Alive and Ella have collaborated with Kiehl's to help raise money for the cause. Yep, when you buy Ella’s new Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, £10 will be going straight to MTV Staying Alive to fund their work. It's not just a celebration of Pride, but it’s a reminder that there are LGBTQ+ communities around the world that need our help more than ever.
“MTV Staying Alive supports a number of LGBTQ+-focused projects as it is a community at increased risk of HIV infection,” Ella explained. “To me it made sense to bring together all the fun and colour of Pride but also keep a strong message that this is a community that we should all support.”
We love that Ella's not just talking the talk but she's actually walking the walk, genuinely helping to make a difference to the LGBTQ+ community as well as supporting Pride. Oh, and that (SIDE NOTE) she's performing at Brighton Pride with none other than Britney Spears too. Yaas Ella - we can't wait.
