Ellie Goulding Declares Single Status Amid Ed Sheeran Song Claims
The singer has told Cosmopolitan magazine that she used to "put men on a pedestal" but is now happy going solo...
Ellie Goulding has declared her single status in a new magazine interview, claiming she 'doesn't need a guy'.
Goulding told the mag: "I (used to) put men on a pedestal. I decided to remedy that, and that’s why I’m single now.
"I've realised I don't need a guy. I've got amazing, awesome, stupid friends in the best way possible."
Amid claims that former flame Ed Sheeran has penned a song about her allegedly cheating on him with One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan, Ellie was a little less forthcoming when it comes to how she deals with break-ups.
The blonde babe told the mag: "A lot of despair in breaking up with someone is thinking about how you're going to cope in the future.
"But not being completely present prevents you from being happy and alive. As soon as you stop relying so heavily on what happened in the past, you end up being able to deal."
Meanwhile, when it comes to claims that Sheeran's "f***ing raw" break-up song Don't is about Ellie, the Burn hitmaker has hinted that she'll be keeping quiet.
In an Instagram post, the star posted an extract from Alan Watts' Silence, which includes the words: "One the contrary, it is only through silence that one can discover something new to talk about."
