Ellie Goulding 'Felt Like She Was Dying Of A Heart Attack' After Exhaustion Diagnosis
The singer has opened up about her dramatic summer.
Ellie Goulding had a terrifying moment last summer when her exhaustion reached the point of feeling like a heart attack.
Forced to cancel a number of shows back in July, it was revealed Ellie had actually been signed off by doctors after reaching 'breaking point'.
Chatting to Stylist magazine recently about her battle with anxiety and taking some time off, she explained things can get pretty lonely at times.
"I'd have panic attacks and, to me, they felt like I was dying of a heart attack. It's a very hot, burning feeling, like your heart is racing uncontrollably which is extra scary for me because I actually have a heart defect," she said.
The singer goes on to add that it all just became too much, both physically and mentally.
"When I think back to my tiredness, my slump, not wanting to exercise and not being interested in anything. It wasn't depression, it was just my body giving up.
"Too many people are quiet about mental health. When you feel anxiety, it's a very lonely feeling. It makes you feel like you're the only person in the world feeling that way."
