Elton Weds His Best Man

Elton John tied the knot with blushing groom David Furnish today at the same venue where Prince Charles and Camilla married in April.

Taking advantage of new legislation that allows gay couples to formalise their relationships in civil partnerships, the pair married in Windsor as paparazzi and fans packed out the town centre. Dressed in simple black suits twinned with white shirts, the only difference in their attire was the colour of their ties, with Elton opting for white and David choosing black.

But if the ceremony was unusually low key for the couple " who have been together for 12 years " then tonight's reception for 700 of their closest friends and family is likely to be a high-glamour, celeb-packed affair, with Victoria Beckham and George Michael on the guestlist.

Revellers at yesterday's double hen night included Liz Hurley, Sharon Osbourne, Lee Ryan, Lulu, Bryan Adams, Gary Barlow and Orlando Bloom. While Kylie wasn't well enough to be there she sent a video message of support to the couple.
