2004 MTV Europe Music Awards – Nominees/Performers

The 2004 MTV Europe Music Awards nominees and first batch of performers have been announced.
At a glitzy EMAs press conference in London, OutKast have been unveiled as the leaders of the nominee pack, with five nominations.
The dynamic duo are up for Best Group, Best R&B, Best Song (for 'Hey Ya'), Best Video ('Hey Ya'), and Best Album ('Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'.
Just behind OutKast, Usher finds himself with four nominations, including Best Male and Best Album ('Confessions'), while Anastacia, Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Maroon 5, and the UK's Franz Ferdinand are all up for three awards.

Meanwhile, the first set of performers to be announced is a list so cool you'll want to lick it.
Eminem will take to the stage at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, as will Beastie Boys, Usher, Franz Ferdinand, Nelly, The Hives, Maroon 5 and Gwen Stefani.
And more are yet to be announced.
The 2004 MTV Europe Music Awards take place at Tor Di Valle, in Rome on November 18.
