Not content with his haul last year,Justin Bieber reigned victorious at the 2016 MTV EMA tonight (6th November) taking home three awards! Winning Best Song ('Sorry'), Best Canadian Act and Biggest Fans (go you Beliebers!), Biebs unfortunately couldn't make the ceremony but wherever he is, we're sure he's clearing some room in his cabinet for this year's purple trophies.

Purple? What?! Yep,this year's EMA awards were colouredpurple in honour of the late, greatPrince. Explaining the award host Bebe Rexha said:"Prince was a genius. He appeared on the very first EMAs in 1994 and created ground breaking music and music videos his whole career. He will always be a member of our MTV family. Prince we will always miss you."

Meanwhile Lady Gaga, Martin Garrix and twenty one pilots closely followed in second, each winning two awards thanks to their fans for voting like troopers over the last couple of months. Gaga won Best Female and Best Look, twenty one pilots took Best Live and Best Alternative while Garrix won Best Electronic and Best World Stage.

ElsewhereShawn Mendes took Best Male, Zara Larsson won Best New and The Weeknd grabbed an EMA for Best Video for 'Starboy'.

Green Day were also honoured with this year's Global Icon award in which Billie Joe used his acceptance speech to decry the current state of American politics saying: "it's nice to be out of America because of this horrendous election that’s going on right now." Keep it light, guys!
