Legendary rockers Queen are to be presented with the Brian May claimed: "We are honoured to be designated a Global Icon. We will do our best to be worthy!"
As well as winning the coveted prize, the group will also take to the stage for a special performance, as 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of Queen's formation in 1971.
The likes of Coldplay are also due to perform at the star-studded bash, while Adele has already Selena Gomezwill host the event from Belfast's Odyssey Arena on 6th November and you can catch the proceedings from 9pm GMT on MTV.
