Eminem Headlines T In The Park
First UK show in five years is epic 29-song set...
Eminem closed the second night of T In The Park last night, 10 July. But this wasn’t just any Eminem gig and the 80,000 fans at Balado in Kinross-shire knew it – this was his first UK show in five years and his only UK festival appearance this year.
Highlights in the 29-song set included his first hit, My Name Is, and chart toppers The Real Slim Shady and Without Me. Rap group D12 joined Em on stage for Purple Pills and My Band, and he shouted “Free Lil Wayne” (he’s serving eight months in prison for gun crime) before playing their duet, No Love.
Other high points included Stan – during which the crowd joined in for a mass sing-along over Dido’s lyrics – and the encore, an extended version of Lose Yourself, the Oscar-winning theme tune to 8 Mile.
During the set Eminem thanked fans for sticking by him. The rapper has battled an addiction to prescription drugs in recent years and spent time in rehab in 2005. "Everybody who's an Eminem fan, I just wanna say thank you so much for the support you've shown over the years, for not giving up on me," he said. "I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did tonight. Peace."
