Eminem: 'Marshall Mathers LP 2 Is Not A Sequel'
Rapper explains his eighth album is "more about the nostalgia"...
Eminemhas insisted that his new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, is not a sequel to his 2000 release of the same name.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, the Berzerk rapper explained that his new record is more of a "revisitation" of his earlier work.
Em told the mag: "[It's] not necessarily a sequel. As much as it is a revisitation. So there's not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that.
"To me, it's more about the vibe and it's more about the nostalgia."
He went on to add that he "wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that", stating: "I had to make sure that I had the right songs, and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like 'F**k, man! I feel like it needs this or that', to paint the whole picture."
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - which is Em's eighth studio album - is due for release on November 5, and features the likes of Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and fun.s Nate Ruess.
