Emma Watson Talks Child Actors And Graduating From University
The star has been acting since she was 9 years old...
While many of her contemporaries have already gone through at least one stint in rehab already, 23-year-old Emma Watson has kept a level head on her shoulders, despite being in the public eye for almost 14 years.
And the Harry Potter star credits her family with keeping her grounded. “I’ve been so fortunate in the people that I’ve had around me and I honestly think that makes or breaks a child that works in this industry,” Emma said in an interview.
“You have to have people that truly care about that child’s best interests. It can be a very corrupt environment for a young person,” she added.
As well as avoiding any public meltdowns, the star’s post-Potter career has soared and she’s even managed to finish a degree in between her acting jobs. But Emma’s revealed she’s relieved to finally be finishing with university.
“I’m very excited to graduate,” she said. “I’ll be having a hell of a party! It’ll just be a relief, I think, because I’ve been juggling so much and it’ll just be really nice to be able to just focus on one thing.”
But staying true to her inner Hermione, the actress admitted that despite being glad to finish studying, she would “miss it too”.
