72 New Emojis Are Coming This Month And This Is Not A Drill
Including a pancake, cucumber and a selfie stick.
Hold the (smart)phone because the Unicode Consortium have just dropped a major bombshell and it involves 72 new emojis coming to an appstore near you very, very soon.
Yep, after months and months of chat about the update, the new drop of emojis are now expected to launch later this month adding a whopping great pile of new pics to help you express yourself over text.
While they are yet to give us all a definitive look at what the new emojis will look like, it has been confirmed that the 9.0 release will include the long-awaited face-palm, pancake, bacon, selfie stick, black heart and croissant.
There's also a cucumber, which let's just all agree now is going to totally spice up your overuse of the aubergine when it comes to getting countless peen references into your messages.
On top of that, other notable additions include the gorilla, clown face, the squid, a wilted flower (for your inner goth, duh), a kiwi, potato, juggling and a shopping trolley. There's also what Unicode describe as 'stuffed flatbread', which let's be honest, we've all be DYING for.
You can see the full list of all 72 new emojis right here and a mock up from Emojipedia of some of the new additions below.
You'll have to wait little longer for a dumpling, a sled, a face with one eyebrow raised and chopsticks as those are all set for the 10.0 release, which isn't expected until next year.
Still, how exciting is all of that? Let us know with a tweet to @MTVUK already.
