What’s your favourite emoji? The smiling pile of poo? The OK hand? Well, according to a study by SwiftKey, the only emoji that the UK “over-indexes” on is THE RUDDY WINE EMOJI. Nation of wineaholics.
While personally we’re more partial to the aubergine emoji, US English speakers are the top users of the universal emoticon for penis, as demonstrated by our good friend Dave Franco.
Australians use five times as many lollipop emojis than the average, possibly due to their frequent ice lolly weather, or maybe just because they like to lick things. Your guess is as good as ours.
And, terrifyingly enough, Justin Bieber’s good Canadian nation is the most violet in their emoji use. They use the gun, knife, punching fist, fire, explosion, skull and bomb 50% more than the average user.
