Star Wars Dominates The 2016 Jameson Empire Awards

Just when you thought Star Wars had won all the awards/box office records, the 2016 James Empire Awards hit town.

And Disney's mega-hit swept the board, winning five awards including Best Director (JJ Abrams), Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Best Male Newcomer (John Boyega), Best Female Newcomer (Daisy Ridley), and Best Visual Effects.

The evening was a star-studded affair, with Matt Damon, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Maisie Williams and Andy Serkis in attendance. The night's biggest 'right in the feels' moment came through the posthumous awarding of the Empire Legend trophy to Alan Rickman.
