In case you haven’t already heard of the hit US show that’s quickly become a bloomin’ sensation, Empire began its reign in the UK on Tuesday night (April 28).
A hip-hop musical drama, Empire follows Lucious Lyon, founder of the huge record label Empire.After he's diagnosed with ALS and given a maximum ofthree yearsto live, he decides he must pick one of his sons to become the heir to his company - leaving Andre, Jamal and Hakeem to fight it out.
But soon, someone else pops up with a claim to the company; Lucious’ ex-wife Cookie, who’s been in jail for the last 17 years. She also happens to be a total badass. So, you know, pretty standard stuff.
Also, in the ultimate seal of approval, Taylor Swift has even enlisted one of its stars (Serayah, who plays Tiana) inter her inner A-lister circle.

Still, if none of that hasconvinced you, here’s a few reasons why you should definitelybe tuning in to Empire…
1. Terence Howard is incredible as the slightly terrifying Lucious
2. The music in it is SOgood (and the on-stage outfits are always on POINT)
Its no surprise sinceTimbaland is the music supervisor, don'tcha know.
3. There are some proper amazing celebrity cameos
Àla Courtney Love basically playing herself (don't sue us please Courtney Love).
4. Naomi Campbell plays a COUGAR, for god's sake
This is reason enough.

6. Everyone in it is quite ridiculously good-looking
