MTV caught up with Enrique Iglesias to talk about getting his fingers slicedup by a drone, why he wants to be a rapperand weird experiences with his fans.

The full video interview is above, but we’ve used our fingers,a keyboard and a pair of headphones to bring all of Enrique’s juiciest quotesto you via the written word, if you’d prefer that. Check all of that out below.

On his latest single ‘Duele El Corazon’:

“I feel like a lot of us can relate to it. We all know someone, or we’ve all been in that place where we’re with someone who’s probably not good for you and you know it. And then there’s someone else in your life that makes you happy, and you have to make that choice. Do you go with the person that keeps on breaking your heart or do you stick with the person who makes you happy? Ultimately, it comes down to you.”

On working with Wisin again:

“I met him in 2007, and ever since then we’ve kicked it off, and we get along so well. He’s one of those guys – he’s so easy to work with. He’s always willing. He’s always ready.”

On what we can expect from his 11th studio album:

“I try to make all my albums as different as possible. But it really comes down to the songs. I’m not one of those that sits down and tries to figure out a rhythm or musical style that I’m going to go for. I always concentrate on the songs. I’m a firm believer that if the song is good, whether it’s upbeat or it’s a ballad, that’s what I go by.”

On hitting the stage with Pitbull:

“I admire him. I admire his enthusiasm. Going on tour with him, he always gives a positive vibe, he’s always ready to go, his energy in through the roof…I can only say positive things about Pitbull.”

On being ‘attacked’ by a drone on stage:

“That’s one of the stupidest things that’s happened to me on stage. That’s what happens when you try to grab a drone…that was one of those incidents where I wish I could go back and…at the time I didn’t know so much about drones. Especially the drone they were using to get some of the live footage.”

On weird experiences with fans:

“She snuck into my dressing room and hid underneath the table, and she was there with her little sister for 12 hours. She didn’t come out until after the show and I was leaving the venue at around 1am. She was scared she was going to get in trouble. I thought that was pretty crazy…to stay underneath a table for 12 hours! That’s intense.”

On whether he’d change anything about his career:

“I don’t think I’d change anything. I made a bunch of mistakes, but I feel like I’ve learned a lot from those mistakes, and the moments of success I appreciate a lot more. So I wouldn’t change anything.”

On whether he’d like to be involved with a different genre of music:

“It’d probably be…I wanna say rap. I think you can record a lot more songs. I feel like rappers can…they’re just faster. They have more output of music. I wish I could do that.”

On protecting a fan from security:

“I actually got to speak with her during the concert. She was talking with me whilst she was grabbing onto me. If I’m not mistaken, she was 12 years old and had flown in from Iran just to see the show. It was very cute. She was a sweetie. I brought her to the side of the stage by the soundboard and she got to watch the show from there. But there was a moment when she was surrounded by around 12 security guards and I was like “Dude, no. It’s okay. It’s okay. She’s a sweet girl. She’s not going to do anything.”
