Euphoria For Sweden At Eurovision 2012
Loreen romps to victory as the UK finishes second-to-last...
Sweden were the runaway winners of last night's 57th Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan as Loreen's track Euphoria pulled in a massive 372 points.
Speaking after her victory, Loreen said: "I want to say thank you so much, thank you for believing in me. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you. This is not just mine, it is ours, I love you."
Russian grannies Buranovskiye Babushki, who had been tipped to do well, came second with their song Party for Everyone.
Sadly, Eurovision glory continues to evade the UK - as 76-year-old Engelbert Humperdinck finished second-from-bottom with just 12 points having taken to the stage first with his ballad Love Will Set You Free.
The Hump said of his performance: "I had a great time, a very wonderful time. I hope everyone listening to the song... we shared the song with every generation. I sang it from my heart."
Irish entry Jedward also disappointed, despite a typically energetic performance of Waterline. The quiffed twins failed to match last year's eighth position and could manage only 19th place with 46 points.
According to the Daily Mail, up to 125 million people are thought to have tuned in to the contest.
