Diana Concert Ends With Elton

Tribute show ends with the legends performance cut short by technical problems

22:16, Sunday, 1 July 2007

Elton John closed the Concert For Diana with his Tiny Dancer classic- an MTV News favourite.

The piano man was due to play Crocodile Rock but was forced to end early after glitches with equipment on stage.

Prince William and Prince Harry were seen informing Elton he couldnt carry on in front of the 65,000 audience members.

They then spoke to the crowd thanking the artists and saying: We have raised enough money to make a difference to all the charities of our mother. This has been the most perfect way to remember her.

Comedian Ricky Gervais appeared before the finale playing his Free Love song from The Office. He was joined by Mackenzie Crook- in character as Gareth- on backing vocals.

After the track he was forced to fill time as organisers battled with technical difficulties. John eventually arrived to sing Are You Ready For Love and Tiny Dancer.

Look out for our extended News bulletins over all the TV channels. We hope youve enjoyed the coverage but MTV News is off to bed now.
