MTV Host Spanish Tomato Fight In London

We are getting ready for the EMAs in Madrid

Londoners were transported to sunny Spain today as MTV hosted a giant tomato fight in to celebrate this year’s EMAs.

Madrid is the host city for this year’s star-studded ceremony so to pay homage to the Spanish capital, over 200 people and 25,000 tomatoes descended upon Golden Square to recreate the traditional Spanish ‘tomatina’ food throwing contest.

MTV presenters Laura Whitmore, Ash Stymest, and Rickie & Melvin led the proceedings with a little help from our Katy Perry and Lady Gaga lookalikes.

The top three tomato throwers of the day won a pair of tickets to the EMAs courtesy of MTV.

The 2010 MTV EMAs take place this Sunday – watch the show on MTV - and will be hosted by Eva Longoria, with spectacular performances from Miley Cyrus, Kings of Leon and Bon Jovi and more!
