The 'Baby' star wins his first ever Moonman

Bieber fever hit the MTV VMAs as Justin Bieber picked up the award for Best New Artist.

Earlier in the show Justin performed a medley of his hits outside in front of screaming fans, and took part in a skit with host Chelsea Handler.

The young Canadian saw off competition from Ke$ha, Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj and Broken Bells to take home his first ever Moonman, although we suspect that it won't be his last.
