Example 'Glad' Evolution Of Man LP Is 'Out Of The Way'

EXCLUSIVE! 'Perfect Replacement' singer planning new summer single...

Example has revealed he's 'glad' he's got his latest album The Evolution Of Man "out of the way" and will release his next single this summer.

Speaking exclusively to MTV News backstage before his performance tonight at The Forest Party at this year's Snowbombing Festival, the Say Nothing singer - aka Elliot Gleave - told us:

"The last album…didn't sell anywhere near as many copies as Playing In The Shadows but I always wanted to make a rock album. So I did my version of an electronic rock album and I'm kinda glad I got that out of the way."

The LP, which peaked at just No.13 in the UK album chart, was inspired by fellow Snowbombing headliner [uuid=4501e464-8eac-494a-8a61-1d8a739a9c6d]Kasabian[/uuid]'s Velociraptor! so we asked Gleave his thoughts on sharing the bill with such a band at this year's festival...

"Kasabian are actually one of my favourite bands so it's an absolute pleasure.

"I was always, over the last four or five years, just like a fanboy whenever Kasabian are about and now I'm pretty matey with Tom [Meighan] so it's just great to be on a line up where everyone's mates cos it just makes it a pleasure to come here."

On what's next for Example, Gleave teased the sound for his forthcoming fifth studio album:

"For the fifth album I'm going to go to back to making straight club bangers, a bit more like 90s rave style like [uuid=d2621539-9926-45b3-b124-41da7a4a54fd]The Prodigy[/uuid] and [uuid=c50e5484-4cc7-439a-9d98-e675e851ff4e]The Chemical Brothers[/uuid]. I've already got a few ideas and the next single is going to be out in the summer."
