News of female-centric sequel confirmed as The Expendables 3 premieres in London...
Production is set to start on a female version of The Expendables next year, it has been revealed.
It was confirmed last night at the world premiere of The Expendables 3 that the next instalment of the franchise will be called The Expendabelles - and will see the regular cast exchanged for female screen icons.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that producer Avi Lerner said of the next movie: "We're going to do it at the beginning of next year.
"We are writing the final lines of the script, we've got lots of ideas about who is going to be in it."
And movie mainstay Sylvester Stallone dropped a heavy hint that Sigourney Weaver (aka Ripley from the Alien movies) will be playing a big role.
Crowds turned out to see Sly and co-stars including Kellan Lutz, Jason Statham, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas in Leicester Square yesterday evening.
