Each New Fantastic Beasts Sequel Will Be Set In A New City
The director of Fantastic Beasts has confirmed each sequel will be set in a new city. Here are all the details.
Fantastic Beasts fans, get ready for a globetrotting adventure! The first film was set in New York, the second will be set in Paris and the third… well that’s anyone’s guess, because according to director David Yates, each new instalment of the Fantastic Beasts saga will be set in a different global city.
“Jo's already told us where the next one is taking place,” says the director. “It's very exciting. This is a global story, ultimately. And given that there's a global audience for this, it's all the more delightful to take the story to different parts of the world.”
Yates didn’t spill any details as to where the adventure might head next, but we’d say that somewhere in Germany might be a decent bet. We know that the villainous Grindelwald was once a student at the oft-referenced Durmstrang Institute and later went on to set up shop in a Germanic-sounding fortress named Nurmengard, so don’t be surprised if the third film takes place somewhere in that region.
Co-starring Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston and Ezra Miller, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindlewald will open in the UK on 16 November 2018.
