Fantastic Four's Doctor Doom To Be Reimagined For Reboot
Will fans be happy about Josh Trank's changes to the much-loved Marvel story?
Fantastic Four actor Toby Kebbell has revealed that the villain, Doctor Doom, will be remaigined for the upcoming reboot.
In a recent interview with Collider, Kebbell explained that his character will no longer be known as Victor Von Doom.
Instead, he'll go by the somewhat less villainous moniker, Victor Domashev.
No longer a genius scientist to rival Reed Richards' (Mr Fantastic, played by Miles Teller) big brain, Domashev will be a… well, a geek.
"The Doom in ours - I'm a programmer," revealed Kebbell. "Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I'm 'Doom'."
Ah. See what they did there?
The British actor praised director Josh Trank's "ultra-real" approach to the Marvel comics story, which was previously adapted for the big screen in a much-maligned franchise that starred Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd.
"It was cool, man," he said. "Josh, the whole deal, the lo-fi way he did it, the ultra-real.
"It was just nice to do that. It was nice to be feeling like we had to come to terms with what was given by this incident."
Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B Jordan and Jamie Bell will star as the titular team in the film, which is due for release on August 6, 2015.
