E! Puts Fashion Police On Hiatus Following Kathy Griffin Comments

Controversial show to be axed until at least September...

So could Kathy Griffin's awesome resignation message after she departed Fashion Police last week have been the final nail in the show's coffin?

The comic shared a lengthy and eloquent condemnation of the E! show on social media - explaining that she was uncomfortable with the "mockery" of people's bodies and style.

And now the channel has put the show "on hiatus" until September - hinting that it will be given a major overhaul.

"E!'s comedy series Fashion Police is going on hiatus and will return in September," the network revealed in a statement.

"We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with Executive Producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of Fashion Police fans around the world."

Griffin was the second high-profile departure from the show in recent months, with Kelly Osbourne having quit shortly beforehand over Rancic's controversial comments regarding Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks.
