6 Best DIY Ugly Christmas Jumper Tutorials On The Internet

Your last minute saviour for Christmas Jumper Day.

Christmas is but a few days away (we can already taste all of the food we are going to overeat), and what better way to spread festive cheer than by amping up your ugly sweater game?

Don’t panic if you’ve spent all your pennies on pressies though (or are just generally poor af) - because here’s 6 awesome DIY options, just for you. Ho ho ho.

1. The witty one

This guy turned the whole ugly sweater concept on its head and basically won 2016. OK, so it’s a little mean, but only if you’re an over-sensitive Sally. It’s hella easy to make, too: just tape a mirror to your chest. Voila!

2. The therapeutic one

Another simple, yet oh-so-effective, design. Simply buy a cute, fluffy, innocent reindeer toy, then HACK ITS ARMS AND LEGS OFF. Woody and Buzz are turning in their graves. Actually that implies Woody and Buzz are dead which is sort of horrible, but you get what we mean.

See the full tutorial here.

3. The sparkly one

Why should big ol’ plants have all the fun? You wanna be a Christmas tree? You BE a Christmas tree, honey. Heather Hodnicki is the mastermind behind this incredible creation, which involves gluing some tinsel and baubles onto a green sweater. Genius.

You can watch the full tutorial here.

4. The Grinch-tastic one

Happy Grinchmas, folks. All you need for this one is a green feather boa, fluff (should be able to get that from most good craft stores, innit), and some festive red balls (ditto). Now pucker up and kiss it, Whoville!

Tutorial right here.

5. The one with accessories

You might think transforming yourself into an ACTUAL fireplace is difficult. You’d be wrong.

NOTE: do not use real flames, these will burn you.

6. The semi-disturbing one

You know, people really forget what the real essence of Christmas is, the real meaning. Remind them with this baby Jesus DIY sweater, made with nothing but a doll, some hay, and pure love.

Pigs optional.
