Cara Delevingne And Victoria's Secret Blast Rumours She Was Dropped From Fashion Show For Being 'Too Bloated'

Neither VS or Cara are here for body shaming, thanks.

It's 1-0 to Victoria's Secret and Cara Delevingne today after they stood together to blast some pretty nasty tabloidrumours that the model was dropped from the brand's 2014 fashion show in London for being 'too bloated'.

The report appeared in The Sun this weekand according to Cara and VS,made unsubstantiatedclaims that while shewas originally slated to appear, she didn't make the finalcut because of a 'weight gain'.

Neither Cara nor Victoria's Secretare letting this one fly though, and Chief Marketing Officer Edward Razek penned a letter straight to Cara where he not only called out the article as a 'complete fabrication' but reiteratedwhy it was she didn't actually end up appearing.

Clearly agreeing with Edward's account of what happened and that real reason she actually couldn't end up appearing was because she was working on filming Paper Towns in the USA, Cara posted the letter on Instagram for all to see simply captioning it: "It's shameless to discuss women's bodies just to sell papers#bloated."

While we're all for the fashion industry being more inclusive and using models that reflect the truer diversity of shapes and sizes on the runway, it's pretty depressing to see the body shaming of women being used by a publication to make headlines in this way. Particulalrly as itdistracts from the real issue and does the exact thing it claims to be calling out. Sigh.

Still, while VS definitely don't have anything to apologise for in this instance, it's also pretty awesome that they concluded by inviting Cara back to this year's show in Paris, saying:“So allow me to extend the invitation once again. If you’re free on November 30, please join us in Paris. As always, we’d love to have you. No casting necessary.”

Now THAT is something we'd like to see. How about you?
