These Designer Sexy Fruit Costumes From London Fashion Week Are Our New Aesthetic
Hello. This is your daily reminder that fashion can be more fun, crazy, and amazing than you can really imagine, with evidence coming in the form of exhibit A: These designer sexy fruit costumes that happened at London Fashion Week.
Did we mention how much we LOVE fashion week and how unpredictable it is?
The brilliant fruit costumes (would wearing one of the outfits count as one of your five a day? Asking for a friend) arrived on the catwalk as part of the Charlotte Olympia LFW show, which took place at London's Sheraton Grand Hotel ballroom.
Creating a visual representation of our local grocery store, the models walked down the catwalk dressed as everything from strawberries to pineapples, with singers - including Brazil’s Bebel Gilberto - and dancers also getting involved to make for one unforgettable show.
According to Teen Vogue, the costumes were used to compliment the ‘emoji-inspired bags and shoes’ that were exhibited in the collection.
Designer Charlotte Dellal shared her inspiration behind the epic show with Vogue, explaining that it was ‘based on Technicolor movies from the ‘40s, like Carmen Miranda’s, which I always love’.
