Fast & Furious 7's Tyrese Gibson 'Cried Like A Baby' During Final Paul Walker Scene
That Paul Walker scene was extremely emotional for close friend Tyrese Gibson.
The actor, who plays Roman Pearce in the Fast and Furious movies, opened up to MTV on location in Abu Dhabi, where one of the film’s most epic car stunts was shot, to celebrate the launch of the blockbuster on DVD.
In the emotional interview above he reveals how poignant it was saying goodbye to Paul Walker, who tragically passed away in 2013 while making the movie.
The co-stars were close friends too, with Tyrese having first acted alongside Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner in 2 Fast 2 Furious back in 2003.
On the final, touching scene of Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 7, Tyrese reveals, ‘I cried like a baby the first five times I’d seen it. I just don’t want to believe it. Still to this day I don’t want to believe it. None of us do.’
'We were all very clear form the beginning that if this movie is really successful its probably going to be because the world loved Paul the way we did and they want to show up and pay their last respects,' says Tyrese on the mega success of the film.
Fast & Furious 7 made $1.5 billion worldwide when it hit cinemas this summer, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of all time. But, ‘It was never about that, because it would feel like we’re making it about us,’ says Tyrese, ‘when really its about Paul Walker.’
