Production is set to begin again on Fast & Furious 7, movie studio Universal has confirmed.

Shooting was halted last November following the tragic death of star Paul Walker in a car crash.

His cast mate Vin Diesel - who plays Dominic Toretto in the movie series - hinted at the news yesterday when he tweeted: "The transition into that Dom state of mind has always been an interesting one.

"Only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series… P.s. The long awaited completion of Seven, begins…"

And it was later confirmed by Universal that shooting will resume on 31 March, and will continue through April.

It has previously been reported that Walker's character will be "retired" rather than killed off in the movie.
