TOWIE's Ferne McCann Urges Boyfriend Arthur Collins To Turn Himself Into Police Over Nightclub Acid Attack
20 people suffered burns in the attack on Easter Monday.
TOWIE's Ferne McCann is urging boyfriend Arthur Collins to turn himself into police, who are currently trying to track him down in connection with an acid attack at a London nightclub.
Police says the 25-year-old scaffolder should not be approached and anyone sighting him should call 999, while Ferne personally advised him to 'attend a police station immediately' in a public statement released on her behalf last night.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend, two women aged 24 and 29 were seriously injured in the attack, which took place at Mangle in Dalston early on Easter Monday. Another 18 clubbers suffered burn injuries as a result of the incident that saw a corrosive liquid sprayed over the crowd during an argument between to groups at the club.
In the statement, a rep for the TOWIE star said: “Ferne is aware that the police wish to speak to Arthur Collins and the nature of the accusations against him. Obviously these are highly shocking and Ferne has co-operated with the police in their inquiries.
"She was not with Arthur on Sunday night, was not at Mangle and has no direct knowledge of the events that unfolded. As much as anybody she wants to know the truth and urges Arthur to co-operate fully with the police and attend a police station immediately."
Arthur Collins, 25, of Hertfordshire, is wanted for questioning by police," A Met Police statement said. "Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact with investigators.
"He should not be approached by members of the public. If seen the public are advised to call 999 immediately."
Detective Inspector Lee McCullough, from Hackney CID, who is leading the investigation, adds: "We now have 20 people suffering from the effects of an acidic substance being sprayed in a confined space in a busy nightclub.
"All have burn-related injuries. The noxious substance used has not yet been confirmed but samples retrieved from the scene have been sent for analysis. If you were there and saw anyone involved inside or leaving the nightclub, please get in touch."
Only this week Ferne appeared on the front cover of OK magazine with Collins as they spoke about their plans to wed.
"We met on Instagram," Ferne told the mag. "I followed him first before I went on I'm A Celebrity, so it was around August 2016. I thought he had such an unusual, cool look – then about a month later he slid into the DMs."
