Ferne McCann Gets Remarkably Candid About Giving Birth Without Ex-Partner Arthur Collins
The TOWIE babe admits how she really feels about giving birth alone in the wake of her exes acid attack trial.
Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has opened up about giving birth without her ex-partner, Arthur Collins, who stands trial for allegedly being involved in a nightclub acid attack earlier this year.
Ferne split from the father of her unborn child following the incident on 17 April and now that her due date is approaching, she has been getting pretty candid about preparing for life as a mum.
Why not check out all the reality star pregnancies we didn't see coming...
Speaking to OK! magazine, she revealed that while she will not be joined by her baby's dad, she certainly won't be all alone: "I don't think about that now because my mum is my birthing partner. I don't dwell on how different it could have been."
She added: "Obviously there are moments when that does cross my mind, but I’m just focusing on the positives."
The reality star is admirably positive, and revealed: "In life you’re dealt the hand that you’re dealt, and you actually really surprise yourself with how much you can cope with."
Ferne revealed that she doesn't particularly like the term 'single mum', pointing out that her relationship status shouldn't define her: "To me, I’m going to be a mum like anyone else, but just in a different situation. It shouldn’t define you."
"But yes, I have done this whole pregnancy on my own, but at the same time I’m so not alone – I’ve got such a great support network with my mum, sister and friends," she added.
"I’ve not felt alone or been alone once during this pregnancy."
We know Ferne is going to make an amazing mum, single or not, and the babe revealed that being pregnant has made her stronger on the whole: "The whole process of being pregnant has made me a much stronger person."
"They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and it really is true. I feel like I’ve developed a new armour this year."
Go girl!
