London Film Festival Line-up

The Times BFI London Film Festival today announced the line-up for this, its 51st Year

Anyone who'd planned on doing anything during the last two weeks of October this year can cancel it and invest the money saved in popcorn as the Times BFI London Film Festival kicks off in and around the capital.

Brad Pitt, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Tom Cruise, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Adrien Brody " the list goes on and on a total of 184 hand picked features will run alongside master classes on film making and heated debates on some of the freshest issues facing the cinema today.

The festival opens on October 17th with David Cronenbergs London based feature Eastern Promises, starring Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts and French super villain Vincent Cassel.

There follows two weeks of cinematic Nirvana with Cate Blanchett playing Bob Dylan in Im Not There, new Tom Cruise flick Lions for Lambs and Brad Pitts The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford being mainstream highlights.

Away from the spotlight, Jason Reitmans Juno looks special, casting a very different light on teenage pregnancy, Water Lilies is an enchanting coming of age story that looks well worth reading subtitles for, and we can finally see what Sienna Millers really made of in Steve Buscemis new flick Interview.

Cinemas across London will be taking part, and a series of screenings in Trafalgar Square will be unforgettable, whatever the movies are like.
