Oxjam Gigs Kick Off
Jarvis, The Kooks, Killa Kela and Jamelia play at a London charity shop
Oxjam 2007 has launched with gigs in a charity shop featuring Jarvis Cocker, Remi Nicole, Jamelia and The Kooks.
The unusual shows start a month of gigs for Oxfam to raise cash for the worthy cause.
On Monday (Oct 1) Brighton boys The Kooks played at the Dalston shop supported by Remi Nicole and Pulp-man Jarvis DJing.
Luke Pritchard frontman with The Kooks told MTV News: I like Oxjam because its not just about Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian and big bands, its about all these people across the whole country doing their own gigs."
Cocker added: "A lot of my records came from Oxfam shops in the first place so its appropriate that i'm here.
Tuesday was headlined by RnB beauty Jamelia ably supported by beatboxing king Killa Kela and Mattafix.
Still to come are shows from Hot Chip and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
