6 Reasons Why You Have To Visit Ultra Europe At Some Point In Your Life
Ultra Europe literally blew our minds...
After experiencing Ultra Miami back in March, Ultra Europe had a lot to live up to. The three day festival took place last weekend (15th-17th June, 2016) in the idyllic town of Split, Croatia. Despite having day one cancelled (due to bad weather, booo!), the remaining two days did not disappoint. So if you have major Ultra FOMO and are thinking of booking a ticket for next year, then here’s why you definitely should…
1. Location
Ultra Europe is hosted in Split’s Pojud Stadium. Croatia is BEAUT, and there is so much to see and do during the day before hitting the festival and dancing until the sun comes up. And the best bit… it’s only a 2 hour flight from London. We hung out in the old town or at the beach most days before taking a 15 minute-ish cab ride to the festival – perfect!
2. Line Up
Ultra are known for their huge events all over the world, and for always bringing the biggest names in electronic music to their fans, and this year was no exception. With the likes of Afrojack, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and Deadmau5 taking to the main stage, whilst Carl Cox and Jamie Jones headlined Resistance, there was something for everyone. Oh, and how could we forget Hardwell closing the main stage with the Pokemon Theme Song… Ultra Europe was truly an unforgettable experience

3. Weather
Ok, so on Friday night the weather kinda sucked, it sucked that much that it led to the cancellation of AN ENTIRE DAY – heartbreaking, we know. However, the sun was back out in full force for the rest of the weekend, allowing us chill on the beach all day, and dance the night away – perfect festival holiday vibes.
4. The Crowd
One of our fave things about the Ultra brand is the sense of unity. The events bring in people from all over the world, allowing them come together for an international celebration of dance music.
5. Production
Now let’s talk stages… the Arcadia Afterburner, Resistance, Ultra Worldwide and not forgetting the Ultra Mainstage. Each bring their own uniqueness, really capturing the vibe of the music being played out by the DJs. Even just typing this is making us want to go back, wahhh!
6. Croatia Music Week
The final thing to mention is there isn’t just Ultra Europe going on, there is a whole week of celebrations on the island that are worth checking out. First came the official opening party on 14th July hosted at Giraffe Palm Beach House, followed by Ultra Europe, then Ultra Beach, held in Hvar - the perfect opportunity to chill out in the sun whilst still catching your favourite DJs and then to top it all off you’ve got the Resistance Closing Party held in Fort George.
You don’t just need to fly out for the weekend, turn it in to a full on holiday, explore the island, soak up the sun whilst listening to the best DJs in the world, oh and hit up a boat party because why the hell not.
So, yeah what are you waiting for? Book that ticket, pack your flag and get on plane – see y’all next year.
