Festival Review: Field Day 2011
London's Victoria Park | 6th August 2011
OK, ok, I know the organisation of this East London festival hasn’t the best rep - the first time is forgivable, the second is kinda stupid and five years in we’re all still harking on about queues and sound issues.
Still, what makes Wild Beasts, as people asked were they a strange choice to headline? As the crowds spilled out into Warpaintwhen they played Undertow and their reworked version of Super Furry Animals’ visionary, woolly-hated national treasure The Horrors returned to Field Day to play the shoegazey woozy synths of The Coral - and it’s not a bad way to spend a Saturday in a field. Then off into the East London night everyone went - to blog about it.
