The Reason That Fifth Harmony Didn’t Change Their Name After Camila Left Is Too Cute for Words

Lauren, Normani, Dinah and Ally reveal all in their latest interview...

Fifth Harmony are killing it right now.

Their new single ‘Down’ is rising up the charts and they’re about to release a new album.

What’s more, with a song of the summer in tow, the ‘Boss’ girls are out doing promo.

Lauren, Normani, Ally and Dinah are answering all of your questions.

The ‘Work from Home’ hitmakers recently stopped by MTV to discuss where they’re at.

In the interview, Meredith Graves asks them about ‘Down’, the album and what’s next. She also used the opportunity to find out if the girls considered changing their name whenCamila left the group and they went from having five members to four.

“Absolutely not.” The girls say in unison.

“It was obviously like, I feel like a thought, just because it was obviously a prevalent thing that there was four of us and not five but, regardless, we were all very united on the fact that we didn’t want to change the name,” Lauren divulges. She then goes on to say that, “It wasn’t our thought that was circulating” and that it was actaully only “the Internet” that were set on it.

Um - we may have been guilty of thinking that H4RMONY could have been a thing.

“Fifth Harmony is the name that we grew with and we worked for. It’s our brand it’s who we are. It’s our whole entire moments – what we’ve spent five years on, you know,” Lauren continued. Actually that makes a lot of sense.

Dinah then adds: “The fans named us Fifth Harmony and now they’re the fifth member.”

Okay – this is too cute for words.

The girls then talk about being inspired by girl groups that they grew up with - Destiny’s Child, Spice Girls, TLC and their dream collaborations. Normani is set on “Nicki Minaj!” Come on Nicki - please make it happen. Can you imagine?

Perhaps most adorable of all though is that the girls use the interview to talk about how they each inspire each other to keep going adn improve. “We’re here to support each other,” says Ally. We’re here to support you too girls!

Now if you don’t mind us we’re going to go listen to ‘Down’ on repeat and start learning all of the choreography.
