Speculation about the casting of the forthcoming movie adaptation ofAngelina Jolie reportedly keen to land a role and Katie Cassidy in the frame for the lead.

Katie, the daughter of '70s superstar David Cassidy, is the latest actress to be linked to the role of Anastasia Steele in the film version of the hugely popular erotic novel, according to Digital Spy.

And she has fuelled the flames by posting a link to a story about her being mooted for the role on her Twitter account - so we can assume she's keen on the idea.

Meanwhile Hollywood megastar Angelina Jolie is reported to be a huge fan of the "mommy porn" book by EL James - and interested in a part in the movie herself.

A source told The Mirror: "Angelina kept hearing about the book while she was in the UK. All the girls on set were talking about it and how it's being made into a film.

"Angelina went out and bought herself a copy, thinking she'd love a part in the hot topic on everyone's lips at the moment. She knows the film is bound to be a huge hit.

"Ange is dead-set on a major part. She's up for the challenge."

Ryan Gosling is reported to be the favourite for the male lead.
