Charlie Hunnam Leaves Fifty Shades Of Grey
Telly filming commitments blamed for actor's exit from male lead role...
Charlie Hunnamwill no longer play Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.
News of his shock exit from the movie project was broken by movie studio Universal, with a statement claiming that his filming commitments for television show Sons Of Anarchy were to blame.
The statement read: "The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead, given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."
And author EL James tweeted to say: "I wish Charlie all the best. x"
British actor Hunnam had been an unpopular choice among hardcore fans of the erotic novels, with an internet campaign to get him replaced with Matt Bomer being started.
But as recently as last week he had been insisting that he was taking the role seriously.
