Charlie Hunnam Talks Fifty Shades Role

Reveals instant 'chemistry' with co-star, and has no fears over sex scenes...

Charlie Hunnam, who landed the coveted role of Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, has revealed that he and co-star Dakota Johnson had "chemistry" right from the off.

The actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he knew the pairing would work when he met Dakota - who is set to play Anastasia Steele - at the audition stages.

"As soon as we got in the room and started reading with Dakota, I knew that I definitely wanted to do it, because there was a tangible chemistry between us.

"It felt kind of exciting and fun and weird and compelling, and so that was it."

Charlie also revealed that he is "even more excited" about the role after reading the book - and he's got no worries about the sex scenes.

"My first job was on a Channel 4 mini series called Queer As Folk. It had incredibly explicit sexual scenes with a man. I mean I'm 16 and 17 years wiser now. So if I could do it when I was 18 with a guy, I can certainly do it at 33 with a lady."

Some fans of the book were disappointed with the casting announcement, with thousands [uuid=f1d7cba8-7e89-4add-9689-15a33bcbb8b4]signing a petition[/uuid] to have the lead roles recast.
