Dakota Johnson has appeared in the new edition of Vanity Fair magazine, discussing her role in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Posing in a strapless grey dress (naturally), the 24-year-old actress admitted that she found her character "kinda boring" to begin with.

"A lot of getting into the character's head, in Ana's headspace before she meets Christian, so it's a lot of reading, which I love," she told the magazine.

"She's an English major, so that's kinda boring."

But she said that she had really enjoyed shooting with Jamie Dornan and the rest of the team on the movie version of EL James' best-selling bonkbuster novel.

"It's been a very smooth and fun and creative experience," she stressed.

"I think going into something like this, you kind of have fears of what it could be like and none of those fears are happening.

"We all get along really well and the crew's amazing. We're just all trying to make this project the best it can be."

Vanity Fair has released a behind-the-scenes film of Johnson, in which she can be seen answering interview questions.

Asked if she'll miss the production once it's over, she replied: "I dunno, because then there's maybe the thing of we're gonna do it again in a year or so."
