Dakota Johnson Lands Lead Role In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'

Daktoa Johnson has been confirmed to play Anastasia Steele in the film adaption of raunchy novel, Fifty Shades of Grey.  

 

Author E L James announced the news on Twitter today (September 1), writing: "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."

The likes of Emma Watson, Mila Kunis and more recently, Emilia Clarke have all been linked to the role.

 

Dakota has previously starred in flicks The Five-Year Engagement, 21 Jump Street and The Social Network. 

 

She will star alongside Charlie Hunnam, who will play dominating businessman Christian Grey in the film.

 

Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct Fifty Shades of Grey - which Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti will produce - and is due for release on August 1, 2014.
