Fifty Shades Author EL James Held A Twitter Q&A And It Went Very, Very Wrong
Who decided this was a good idea?
When it comes to celebrity Twitter Q&As, it’s safe to say that they never go completely to plan.
Like, remember when Robin Thicke did one and was literally flooded with angry messages? Well, this one EL James has done has kind of gone in the same direction.
On Monday (June 29), the fans were informed that EL would be answering questions using #AskELJames, but things got out of hand quickly, with the hashtag being hijacked by people who had some strong words for the author.
While most opted to make fun of EL’s writing skills (she really does love a thesaurus), others went HARD on her over her Fifty Shades of Grey series, describing the relationship between Christian and Ana as ‘abusive’.

There was also some pretty accurate tweets that took aim at the, erm, inspiration EL took from Stephanie Meyer, the author of the Twilight trilogy...

Oh lord, it's never a quiet day for EL, is it? Naturally, she ignored all the hate and managed to find some tweets asking proper questions about her novels.
But seriously, we would've loved her to hit back at least one of those not so nice messages.
