Fifty Shades Of Delay For Sequels As EL James 'Demands To Write Scripts'
Author reportedly seeking more control over follow-up movies...
Fifty Shades Of Grey might have been a major international box office hit, but it looks like it's going to be "all change" behind the camera for the two planned sequels.
Variety reports that EL James - who wrote the best-selling erotic novels - is seeking greater creative control over Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
Fancy A Sleepover At Christian Grey's Place?
She was reported to have been at loggerheads with director Sam Taylor-Johnson over the amount of sex featured in the movie, with STJ now tipped to be departing the franchise along with screenwriter Kelly Marcel.
Variety's Justin Kroll wrote: "According to insiders, the delay in the production of Fifty Shades Darker is related to the fact that Universal execs and James are still arguing over details.
"Unlike most successful franchises, which aim to retain the team behind the first film, it appears that Fifty Shades will undergo a dramatic creative reshuffling in the weeks to come."
And a rep for Universal said: "The studio had always intended to sit down with the author after the film opened and discuss next steps, and that has not yet happened."
It is thought that production on Darker will now slip to 2016, potentially allowing newbie scriptwriter James the time to learn to ropes and for her efforts to be "tweaked".
