Oops! Cinema Shows Fifty Shades Instead Of SpongeBob Movie
Parents panic as sexy movie screened instead of kids' trailers...
We were surprised when France recently categorised the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey as suitable for viewers as young as 12.
But now one cinema in the US has taken things even further, showing the raunchy flick instead of a PG-rated kids' film.
Parents who had taken their offspring to see The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water at the MetroLux 14 cinema in the fittingly named town of Loveland, Colorado, were alarmed when the curtains parted and Fifty Shades began instead of the trailers they'd been expecting.
Joe Jaramillo told The Colorodoan that he'd taken his granddaughter to the 11:45am showing - and was surprised to see the R-rated movie start rolling.
"It was the parents' reaction to it that was so funny," he said.
"Some were moving pretty fast to get the kids out of the theatre. The family sitting behind me said what I was thinking: 'Am I in the right theatre?'"
But Jaramillo stayed put (presumably covering his granddaughter's eyes), and shortly afterwards the film was halted and the expected trailers began prior to the SpongeBob film.
