Thom Evans: 'I Auditioned For Fifty Shades Of Grey'
Former rugby star reveals he was up for same role as Jamie Dornan...
Thom Evans has revealed that he had an audition for the lead role in Fifty Shades Of Grey.
The former rugby player - best known to many as Kelly Brook's ex-BF - told the February edition of Attitude magazine that his try out for the role of Christian Grey was "pretty tame".
He said of Dornan: "He's flourishing in the acting world, and if I could do half as well as he has I'd be more than happy!"
Speaking of the sadistic killer played by Dornan in The Fall, the 29-year-old continued: "I would love to play that kind of character it would be just the kind of thing I'd love to do. I really like dark independent films. But right now, I would love the opportunity to take on any role.
"I actually went up for Jamie's role of Christian Grey. The audition was pretty tame to be honest, but it was a great experience for me.
"It's such a huge project and I'd be lying to say I wouldn't have loved to have got the role. But I think Jamie is perfect for it and I can't wait to see it."
Evans is appearing in the new Strictly Come Dancing tour - following his stint on the last series of the BBC show.
