Will It Be 'Fifty Shades Of Pay Demands' For Sequels?
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will reportedly be angling for a BIG wage hike...
After Fifty Shades of Grey proved itself a global box-office smash, thoughts have turned to the sequel and speculation has begun over the stars' pay.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are reported to have taken a relatively modest £170,000-ish apiece for the first movie - plus some healthy box office bonuses.
But now The Hollywood Reporter reckons they'll be looking to cash in big time for the sequel - Fifty Shades Darker - with seven-figure raises being mentioned.
An insider was quoted as saying: "It was a very basic franchise starter deal. Look at Twilight and Hunger Games, and that's where it is heading."
Jennifer Lawrence apparently made about £330k for the first Hunger Games movie - but stepped that up to £6.7m for the sequel.
But producer Dana Brunetti is reportedly keen to keep a lid on costs and to prevent the £27m budget of the original movie ballooning with salary costs.
He said: "That was the great thing about this film — we knew we were going to be able to make stars.
"Now it's their opportunity to get paid on other projects. It's been a breakout role for both of them. I'm sure they are getting tons of offers on other things."
We've got a feeling we haven't heard the last of this one!
