Final Fantasy XV Is Delayed, But Here's Why That's A Good Thing

The rumours are true.

Final Fantasy XV was rumoured to get a delay, and now that’s been given a date. But after ten years of waiting, a little longer can’t hurt, right?

According to bosses at US store GameStop, speaking to news sites Gamnesia and Kotaku separately, we will have to wait until 29 November for the release of Final Fantasy XV. The previously scheduled release was expected on 30 September.

The sources claim that GameStop employees have been sent an image, shown below, explaining how they need to change signs in the shop. They will apparently be given stickers with the updated date to apply to the signs that will appear in stores from Monday. IT'S REAL, GUYS.

While waiting even longer might be a frustration, it could be a good thing. Rumours have been floating about that Final Fantasy XV is far from fully finished and a rush for release could mean a buggy game. In fact, the game’s director even mentioned at E3 this year that the title’s optimisation had been very difficult.

Better to wait an extra month which isn’t long for waiting but is plenty of time to really perfect a game that could do with a little polishing, right?
