Celebrity Workouts IRL: How To Pull Like A Celeb Pilates Session
Core blimey that hurt!
Fed up of being slumped at our desk with cookie crumbs in our double chins, we decided to fix up and get pulling like a celeb at bePilates. This ain't yoga... this is a serious fitness flex!
What exactly does it entail?
There's no rolling around on a matt, trying to do handstands in Lycra at bePilates. Their dynamic reformer pilates studio in Marlybone, London was full of machines (pilates carriages) that looked like they belonged in a torture dungeon. Albeit, a very light and chill tortune dungeon.
Core strength, flexibilty and balance is the name of the game here. Invented in 1883 by German gymnast Joseph Pilates, this exercise routine is designed to correct posture and increase well being.
We nearly cried whilst on the carriages as we attemped painful AF pilate moves like The Hundred, The Frog and The Elephant and wheezed and heaved at torso muscles hidden underneath rolls of Christmas chub. The burn was real. BELIEVE!
Why the celebs love it
Spending your evenings on red carpets with the world's media watching you means you need your bod to be SRSLY on fleek. That's why celebs like Kate Hudson, Bella Thorne and Sofia Vergara all swear by the powers of a sweaty stretch sesh.
No one said laying down was such hard graft. Clammy.
Resistance was futile at bePilates because you're made to work. I was forced to flex muscles I didn't even know existed. It hurt so good.
Could you move the next day?
I felt A-MAZE-ING! My whole body felt stronger and longer. My mind was so refreshed and chill that I couldn't be bothered to do any work...
